About This Sound

Drift Away has a little more air in it than the darker sleep presets, something like a distant surf line heard from a beach house with the windows shut. The ten-second swell is slow enough to feel like breathing but quick enough that you can still sense the rhythm if you want to follow it.

The color sits at 3.7, about seventy percent of the way from pink to brown, so there is a soft upper-mid hush over the low rumble. A sine pulse at 0.1 Hz produces one complete rise and fall every 10 seconds. Grey EQ is off and the fade-in is 20 seconds.

It suits people who find full brown noise too heavy but still want a bedtime sound with some movement. Compared with Deep Sleep it is brighter and cycles slightly slower; compared with Delta Waves, which is static at 3.6, it adds the swell while staying only a touch darker.

Best Used For

Try this: Try matching your breath to the swell: inhale as it rises over five seconds and exhale as it falls.
