Slow Descent is designed around patience. It sounds like a distant weir or a far-off wind that leans in and backs off so slowly you will lose track of where it is in the cycle. The overall tone is warm and slightly textured, a step brighter than pure brown.
The color is 3.75, and a triangle-shaped pulse at 0.04 Hz makes one straight ramp up and one down every 25 seconds. The fade-in is 45 seconds, the longest of any built-in preset, so the first swell does not even reach full volume until you are well into settling down. Grey EQ is off.
It tends to be picked by people who put the sound on while they are still reading or stretching, rather than at the moment they close their eyes. Night Cocoon has a similar triangle swell on a 20-second cycle with grey EQ, and Deep Sleep is darker and cycles three times as fast.
