About This Sound

Waterfall is the roar you hear standing on a footbridge beside a cascade: brighter and more textured than rain, with a sandy, spraying quality in the high frequencies. It is the most energetic of the nature presets and masks a wide range of sounds. Stand by it long enough and voices, keyboards and traffic all disappear into the spray.

The color is 2.8, just on the white side of pink, so there is plenty of treble energy. The distribution is uniform rather than Gaussian, which adds a fine grain to the texture that reads as spray. Grey EQ and pulse are both off, and the fade-in is three seconds.

It suits people who find rain presets too soft, and those who need a nature sound that covers voices. Heavy Rain is warmer and smoother at 3.3, and Mountain Wind goes even brighter at 1.8 but with gusting rather than a constant roar. Try it during the day rather than at night; it is a lot of sound to sleep through.

Best Used For

Try this: Enable grey EQ to soften the spray if the top end feels sharp on earbuds.
