Mountain Wind is a thin, high, whistling wind across an exposed ridge, all treble and very little body. Gusts arrive quickly, hold for a few seconds and fall away, with a fast flicker running through them that suggests wind catching on rock and grass. It is a cold, exposed sound rather than a cosy one, and it is meant to be.
The color is 1.8, between blue and white, so the spectrum tilts firmly upward. The envelope attacks in 1.5 seconds, decays briefly to 70 percent, holds for 3 seconds and releases over 2, a cycle of just under seven seconds. A triangle pulse at 0.5 Hz adds a flicker every two seconds.
It is a niche pick, used for immersive atmosphere or as a bright masking sound rather than for sleep. Windy Day is the warmer, slower sibling at 3.1, and Jet Stream in the mechanical category is even brighter at 0.8 but steady rather than gusting.
