Blue Sky is a thin, bright hiss like air escaping from a tyre valve or a steam radiator at a distance. It has almost no bass at all, and the energy climbs steadily into the treble, which makes it feel light and open but also quite forward on headphones.
The color is exactly 1, blue, with a spectral slope of +3 dB per octave, the mirror image of pink. Grey EQ is off, the pulse is off and the fade-in is one second. It is generated as the derivative of pink noise, which is why it sounds like pink turned inside out.
It is used for masking high-pitched sounds, for dithering experiments and by people who simply prefer a lighter texture. Violet Haze is the even brighter sibling at 0.2, and Tinnitus Mask is a softened version at 1.5 with grey EQ. Most listeners find it more comfortable in short sessions than as an all-day background sound.
