Standard Pink is the balanced middle ground of the noise family, close to the sound of steady rain or a large waterfall at a distance. Because it carries equal energy in every octave rather than every hertz, it matches how we hear and feels neither bright nor boomy.
The color is exactly 3, pink, with a spectral slope of -3 dB per octave. Grey EQ, pulse and effects are all off, the distribution is Gaussian, and the fade-in is one second. Like Pure White, it is deliberately unadorned so it can serve as a reference.
It is the sensible default for someone who has never used a noise generator before. Alpha Waves in the focus category is identical apart from a longer five-second fade, and Soft Air is a warmer neighbour at 3.4. If you are unsure where to begin, start here and move the color slider a little each way until it feels right.
