Study Hall sounds like air escaping a slightly open valve, or the hiss of an old cassette deck between tracks: light, airy and crisp, with almost no low end. It is unusually bright for a focus preset and is meant to sit over the top of speech rather than under it.
The color is 1.2, just past blue toward white, which tilts the spectrum upward at roughly 3 dB per octave. Grey EQ is off, so the brightness is not tamed, and the fade-in is a quick two seconds. There is no pulse; the sound is continuous.
It appeals to people whose main distraction is voices or typing, since higher-pitched masking covers those sounds more efficiently at lower volume. Beta Boost is the nearest sibling, warmer at 2.5, and Concentration goes further toward pink at 2.8 with grey EQ and uniform texture.
