Warm Hiss is the sound of an analogue tape machine or a valve amplifier idling: a bright noise floor that has been gently squashed so the edges are rounded and the tone feels thicker. It is brighter than the pink presets but far less spiky than plain white noise.
The color is 2.5, halfway between white and pink. Warm-mode saturation at 0.6 compresses the peaks and adds low-order harmonics, which fattens the sound and takes the sting out of the treble. There is no pulse, EQ or envelope, and the fade-in is two seconds before it settles.
It suits people who like a bright noise for focus but find white or blue tiring after an hour. Beta Boost in the focus category is the same color without saturation, and Lo-Fi Crunch takes a different route to warmth through bit reduction rather than saturation.
