About This Sound

Waves Loop is a deeper, simpler version of Ocean Waves: each wave builds over three seconds, holds, and draws back over four, with no faster ripple on top. It sounds like surf at night heard from a distance, when the individual splashes are gone and only the swell remains.

The color is 3.8, well toward brown, and there is no pulse. The envelope loop rises over 3 seconds, decays over 0.5 to a 70 percent sustain, holds for 3 seconds and releases over 4, so a full wave lasts ten and a half seconds and roughly six waves pass each minute. Grey EQ is off.

It is often chosen for sleep when Ocean Waves is too bright or too busy. Ocean Waves in the nature category is the same envelope at 3.2 with an added 0.18 Hz shimmer, and Ocean Drift runs three of these wave voices at different lengths so they never line up.

Best Used For

Try this: Layer a second color of 3 at a blend of 0.3 to bring back a little foam without the shimmer.
